Just the two of you,,
and an ocean.
An overwater villa in the Maldives, a private lagoon in Mauritius, granite boulders and turquoise shallows in the Seychelles — the great honeymoon islands exist for exactly one thing: time alone together, somewhere impossibly beautiful.
Six islands,
one perfect escape.
The honeymoon islands of the Indian and Pacific Oceans each promise the same thing in a different key — warm water, white sand, and the world kept at a distance. The Maldives is the icon of the overwater villa and the house reef; Mauritius pairs lagoon resorts with mountains, culture, and value; the Seychelles is the most naturally beautiful, with its granite beaches and rare wildlife; Réunion adds dramatic volcanic adventure; and Fiji and Vanuatu offer the soft-coral South Pacific and a genuinely warm island culture.
Travalive plans honeymoons around the couple rather than the brochure — the right island, the right resort and villa category, the half-board or all-inclusive plan that actually suits you, and the private touches that make a honeymoon a honeymoon. We secure the romance inclusions, time the trip to each island's best season, and can pair two islands — Maldives and Mauritius, or Seychelles and a safari — into one seamless celebration.
What you come here for.
The honeymoon archetype — overwater villas on stilts above a glassy lagoon, a private house reef teeming with fish, sandbank picnics, and a one-island, one-resort seclusion reached by seaplane or speedboat. Year-round sun, and the ultimate barefoot luxury.
Lagoon-fringed beaches with the mountains of Le Morne and the seven-coloured earth of Chamarel behind — Mauritius blends classic beach-resort romance with culture, cuisine, and catamaran days, and offers some of the best value of all the islands.
Arguably the most beautiful of all — the sculpted granite boulders and pink sand of La Digue's Anse Source d'Argent, the coco de mer forests of Praslin, and the beaches of Mahé. Nature at its most cinematic, ideal for island-hopping.
For couples who want adventure with their romance — the active volcano of the Piton de la Fournaise, the soaring cirques and waterfalls, and French-island cuisine, all a short hop from Mauritius.
The South Pacific dream — the soft-coral reefs and palm islets of Fiji's Mamanuca and Yasawa groups, the warm Fijian welcome, and Vanuatu's accessible live volcano and blue holes. Remote, unspoilt, and deeply relaxing.
The best of two worlds — the Maldives' overwater villas paired with Mauritius' variety, or the Seychelles combined with an African safari. We build twin-centre honeymoons that balance pure beach time with a little more.
The experiences that define the journey.
An Overwater Villa and the House Reef
The Maldives does seclusion better than anywhere. We place you in an overwater villa with a private deck and steps straight into the lagoon, on a resort chosen for its house reef, its dining, and its privacy rather than its marketing. The days are yours — snorkelling the reef from your own ladder, a private sandbank breakfast delivered by boat, a sunset dolphin cruise, a couples' spa treatment over the water. We arrange the seaplane transfer (an experience in itself), the honeymoon inclusions, and the meal plan that suits you, so the only decision left is whether to swim before or after breakfast.
A Catamaran Day to a Private Lagoon
The Indian Ocean's larger islands reward getting out on the water. In Mauritius we arrange a private catamaran along the coast to the islets off the east — Île aux Cerfs and its lagoon — with snorkelling, a barbecue lunch on board, and a swim in water the temperature of a bath. In the Seychelles, a boat between Praslin and La Digue links the world's most photographed beaches, bicycles and giant tortoises and all. These are the days that turn a beach holiday into a story you tell for years.
The Private Dinner and the Sunset to Yourselves
A honeymoon lives in its set-pieces, and we build them in. A candlelit dinner for two on the sand with the waves a few metres away; a sunset cruise with sparkling wine; a floating breakfast in your villa pool; a couples' massage as the light fades. We brief the resort on your celebration so the small surprises — the decorated villa, the cake, the turndown — are waiting, and we keep a private guide or driver on hand for the days you want to explore beyond the resort. The grand gestures and the quiet ones, both arranged in advance.
9 days in
Island Honeymoon Vacations.
This nine-night outline is a twin-island honeymoon — a few nights of Mauritius' variety followed by the overwater seclusion of the Maldives — one of the most popular romantic combinations. Every element is adjustable: choose a single island, swap in the Seychelles or Fiji, add a safari, and tune the resort and villa category precisely to you. A starting point, not a fixed product.
Arrive in Mauritius, met and transferred to your beach resort. Time to unwind by the lagoon, a welcome dinner, and the first of many sunsets. The celebration begins.
A private catamaran along the coast to the islets and lagoons of the east — snorkelling, a barbecue lunch on board, and swimming in warm, clear water. A relaxed, romantic day on the sea.
The scenic south — the seven-coloured earth of Chamarel and its waterfall, the Black River Gorges, and the dramatic peninsula of Le Morne — with a rum-and-vanilla tasting and a Mauritian dinner.
A free day to enjoy the resort — a couples' spa ritual, the beach, or the shops and restaurants of Grand Baie. The gentle heart of the Mauritius stay before flying on.
Fly to Malé and transfer by seaplane or speedboat to your Maldives resort — the aerial view of the atolls a highlight in itself. Settle into your overwater villa as the lagoon glows beneath you.
A day of pure indulgence — snorkelling the house reef from your deck, a private sandbank breakfast, and an afternoon of doing gloriously nothing. Sunset cocktails over the water to close.
A dolphin or sunset cruise, snorkelling or diving an outer reef with manta rays or turtles, and a couples' spa treatment over the lagoon. The Maldives at its blissful best.
A final full day to savour the villa, the lagoon, and a private beach dinner under the stars — the celebration's quiet, perfect crescendo before the journey home.
A last swim before the seaplane back to Malé and your flight home — or extend with a Dubai or Sri Lanka stopover. Travalive remains reachable throughout and builds any extension seamlessly.
